Phoenixville Comedy Festival

Phoenixville Comedy Festival is a comedy festival featuring comedy acts in Philadelphia's best suburb, Phoenixville. The festival is scheduled for May 2020 and will include a kids' show, a stand-up show, and improv.

About Phoenixville Comedy Festival

Phoenixville Comedy Festival was founded by various members of the local comedy committee along with various friends of the industry. Our planning committee has years of event planning and production experience, ranging from comedy shows to baby showers to corporate events.

Mission

Our mission for Phoenixville Comedy Festival 2020 is to bring high-quality, local comedy to the Philadelphia suburbs. There is a plethora of talent in the suburbs, and our goal is to bring that local talent out into the community and provide a platform for comedians to share their skills with those who wouldn’t necessarily travel into the city for entertainment. Phoenixville is the perfect location for a comedy festival due to the great businesses in the area, the festival atmosphere of the town, and the great locals who are passionate about high caliber entertainment.

Festival Production Team

Rebecca Huber is the Founder and Executive Producer of PCF20. She has been active in the Phoenixville comedy scene for years, hosting comedy workshops and classes for both adults and children, and she is a co-founder of the local comedy team The Last Minute Replacements. By day, she is a recruiter in the veterinary industry, and has a decade’s experience training adults in a corporate environment. She has extensive experience hosting and producing various events including showers, weddings, comedy shows, and corporate events. Her vision in founding Phoenixville Comedy Festival was to bring local comedic entertainment to her favorite suburb, Phoenixville, and to put the spotlight on the variety of local comics in the area.

Daemon Blaszczyk is Phoenixville Comedy Festival 2020’s Host and Producer. He was an English and Theater major at Kutztown University and was a member of the Sunshine Players. He is a co-founder of The Last Minute Replacements, the lead singer of Throwing Shade, a terrible listener, and a subpar lover. We look forward to seeing him on stage during the festival.

Alicia Jan Francisco (yes, that is her real name) is the Sponsorship Director of PCF20. She has 20 years of event planning experience in the corporate sector. Today, she is semi-retired and planning baby showers and book club benders for friends and family.  She is also on the short list of people dedicated to making gelato professionally.

Alicia has been of patron the arts (Colonial Theatre and 1812 Productions) and loves artists who can make people laugh. She has also studied improvisational comedy with The Last Minute Replacements, ComedySportz Philadelphia, and was the box office manager for ComedySportz Philadelphia for a number of years. Alicia is very excited help bring more comedy to the suburbs. Who wants to drive to center city EVERY weekend?  #sheright  Alicia looks forward to graciously accepting your inevitable generous donation to fund this groundbreaking event in the Venice of the Schuylkill Valley.

Paige Gardner is excited to be the Casting Director of PCF20! Originally from Pittsburgh, Paige moved to this side of the state after accepting a job at Habitat for Humanity in 2017. She has greatly enjoyed learning more about the area and becoming an active member in the community she lives. While in college at Penn State University, Paige was thoroughly involved in multiple clubs, many of which held fundraisers and community events throughout the year. Paige grew up performing in stage plays (and loving it), but has always had a deep appreciation for all things funny. She continues to be in awe of comedians, improvisers, and those who can effortlessly make others laugh. She is thrilled to be a part of this ComedyFest, where she can not only hang out with funny people all day long, but also bring value to the local community!

Matt “Rowdy” Routzahn is the Public Relations Director of PCF20. He has performed in multiple improv comedy troupes spanning 3 states, and has been a guest star in several other improv troupes. He is a founding member of The Last Minute Replacements, and has been leading workshops since 2008 and loves performing. You will find Rowdy promoting the event throughout the area, meeting with sponsors, and getting the word out!

Jessica Benson is the Venue Operations Director of PCF20. She is currently embarking on a career as a Professional Organizer, specializing in residential arrangements and the development and implementation of personal organizational strategies. She has been involved in the leading and planning and execution of various benefits, shows and events over the years. She has additional prior experience in talent recruitment and booking. Plus, she throws a killer party!

Also, she is finishing her PhD in Pyschology/Special Education. Which has nothing to do with comedy nor event planning- she just likes to brag.

David Gallop is the Line Producer of PCF20. He got his start in the entertainment sector when he joined his college improv team. He quickly came to love it, and was selected to be a leader on the team. After graduating, he joined The Last Minute Replacements, where he is the Line Producer and a performer. He works in the Information Technology industry as a developer and analyst, and uses improv to try to get all of his weird out before he’s back in the office (it doesn’t work).
